Dr. Ravishankar Shetty is an accomplished Cardio Thoracic and Transplant Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the field. Having secured the 1st rank in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences for his MS, he went on to super specialise with a M.Ch. in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiac Sciences and an MBA in Hospital Management from Pilani.

With over 21 years of experience under his belt in Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery, Dr. Ravishankar Shetty has performed more than 10,000 cardiac surgeries, including Karnataka’s first paediatric cardiac transplant. He is proficient in both adult and paediatric cardiac surgeries, and thoracic surgeries. He is one of the few surgeons in Karnataka who uses the minimally invasive approach for most of his cardiac surgeries.  He has the honour of having started the Cardiac Transplant Program at M.S. Ramaiah Narayana Heart Centre and having conducted the highest number of cardiac transplants in the state.

Dr. Ravishankar Shetty has been recognised for his significant contributions to Thoracic Organ Transplants in India by the CM of Kerala in 2016, and has also received honours such as the Chairman’s Award (2017) and a certificate of appreciation for exemplary services toward the Heart Transplant Program. Throughout his career, he has worked with leading institutions, such as Narayana Hrudayalaya and Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Sciences, gaining extensive experience in delivering world-class healthcare.
