Dr. Rincy Mathew is a highly accomplished Laboratory Medicine expert with a robust background in diagnostic microbiology. She completed her MBBS at Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kerala, followed by an MD in Microbiology from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, during which she received specialized training in Neurovirology at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. Post MD, she has successfully completed the Infectious Disease Intensive course for Primary Care issued by the prestigious John Hopkins school of Medicine.

Dr. Mathew’s expertise spans various facets of laboratory medicine, including Bacteriology, Virology, Serology, Mycology, and Immunology. She has significant experience in Microbiology technical supervision, quality control implementation, and proficiency testing adhering to NABH/NABL standards. Her career trajectory includes roles as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology at East Point Medical College, Bengaluru, and pivotal contributions to setting up Molecular Biology labs during the Covid-19 pandemic in multiple diagnostic settings.

She holds national certifications in Infection Prevention and Control (CICP) by CAHO, India, and has received training in Hospital Infection Control at JIPMER. Her qualifications also include certifications in Laboratory Management Systems and Internal Audits per IS/ISO 15189:2022, highlighting her commitment to quality standards in healthcare. She is also trained in Programme on Implementation of NABH 5th edition standards for hospitals.

Dr. Mathew’s involvement extends beyond clinical practice; she is a member of the Hospital Infection Control Committee and has contributed to formulating hospital antibiograms and antibiotic policies. She is adept at infection control management across hospital settings and has been actively engaged with professional bodies such as the American Society of Microbiology and the Indian Association of Microbiologists (IAMM).
