Dr Suresh Hanji is a European board-certified, internationally trained consultant Renal Transplantation and vascular access surgeon (for ESRD patients)
He obtained both his medical graduation, MBBS in 1998, and postgraduate degree, MS (General Surgery) from J.J.M Medical College, Karnataka, India in 2002. He has more than 20 years of surgical experience with more than 15 years being in Renal Transplantation and Vascular Access Surgery for dialysis access in End-stage renal disease patients.
He joined as an Assistant professor in the Department of General Surgery at the prestigious St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore. India where he developed his interest in Renal transplantation and vascular access surgery for dialysis access for Renal failure patients. To gain more experience, he traveled overseas for 2 years to work as a senior fellow at Manchester Royal Free Hospital, UK before returning back to St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India as Associate Professor/Consultant surgeon in the Department of General Surgery / Renal Transplantation. He has vast teaching experience for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students during his tenure here. He has also been an examiner for undergraduate medical students.
Subsequently, to pursue his career in Renal transplantation/Vascular access surgery, he returned to the UK and worked at world-renowned hospitals like Guy’s & St.Thomas Hospital and Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK . He obtained a European Board Certified Fellowship (FEBS) in Renal transplantation & abdominal multi-organ retrieval. He has been involved in various research projects and to his credit, he has presented at various regional, national, and international conferences/ forums and also has publications in reputed national and international journals.

- Vascular access surgery like AV fistula /AV graft for hemodialysis access including complex vascular access surgeries like revision/redo procedures to salvage AV Fistula/AV Graft.

- Abdominal Multi-organ procurement from deceased donors for the purpose of organ transplantation from both donor after brain death (DBD) and donor after cardiac death (DCD)
